Frequently Asked Questions
Can I book more than one class or genre for my child's trial?
You can book a trial in any class or genre at any time, whether your child is already part of The Performance Hub or you’re exploring us for the very first time. We know that every child needs time to discover their individual talents and preferences, and those will change over time. That’s why we allow our students to explore and discover new classes and opportunities whenever they are ready.
Our next class is on a Bank Holiday Monday. Is it still on?
Yes, classes are still on unless you have received a notification stating otherwise. Generally, we include all Bank Holiday Mondays in our class schedule and will be onsite as normal. Should you wish to skip the class due to your own holiday plans etc., we can make arrangements to accomodate that.
What is your policy on missed classes or makeup lessons?
Life happens, and sometimes classes get missed – we get it. Junior students can make up a missed class by hopping into one of our Saturday or midweek slots at no extra cost. As we grow, we’ll offer the same flexibility for our inter and senior students too. And if we ever have to cancel a class because of staffing or scheduling issues, we’ll always refund or arrange a makeup session for you.
What makes your dance school different from others in the area?
The Performance Hub bridges dance genres from street to musical theatre, giving children the skills, confidence and real stage experience to shine, whether performing at local community events or competing internationally at Dance World Cup. With graded classes, industry-professional teachers from West End productions, and genuine opportunities in film and theatre through our agency connections, we don’t just teach dance, we open doors to futures in performing arts. We believe every child deserves access to quality performing arts training, which is why we offer scholarships and free holiday spaces through MedwayGo to ensure financial barriers never stand in the way of talent.
Do you offer discounts for children with free school meals?
At The Performance Hub we believe every child deserves access to quality performing arts training, which is why we offer scholarships and free holiday spaces through MedwayGo to ensure financial barriers never stand in the way of talent. We also offer flexible invoicing and payment options to accomodate personal circumstances and allow students to enjoy their dance training without financial worries. How do you communicate important updates or schedule changes to parents?
Communication is key! We send updates by email and social media, but our WhatsApp Community page is the real game changer. It helps us see who’s read the informaiton so we can reach out personally if anyone misses it. No one is left wondering what’s happening – everyone stays in the know!
Do you offer both recreational and competitive tracks? How can a child move between them?
Yes! We offer both recreational AND competitive tracks. If your dancer dreams of stepping into the spotlight, all you need to do is have a chat with us. We’ll explore together what works best for them because no two journeys are the same. Every child gets the change if they want it – and no one is pushed if they don’t.
How do you foster teamwork and friendship between students?
Teamwork and friendships are at the heart of everything we do at The Performance Hub. Some of our classes are grouped by age, so students can learn together no matter their ability. They encourage each other, grow together, and always have something to aspire to. Plus, with spaces to relax and chat between classes, our dancers often bring a packed lunch or dinner just to hang out with their dance family.
What performance and competition opportunities do you offer, and are they optional or required?
From local village events to charity galas to our huge bi-annual school show, we LOVE giving our dancers the chance to perform. Our competition suad has their own calendar, and parents simply opt into the events they want to partake in. Nothing is ever compulsory – though nearly ALL our dancers (yep, 98%) wanted to be in the last big show because performing together is the best part.
